Title: Nokia phone module... Again!
Post by: Dany on 13 July 2010, 00:51:02
Hi all!

I have now a NCDC 2013 with a colour CID screen.
I want to install a Nokia phone module on my car...
I know I have to swap for a NCDC 2015 headunit but I don't know if my car is precabled for all that or not... I have found a genuine GM mic installed on the courtesy lamp with a 2 wires connector plugged. I have also found a 18 pins connector behind the glovebox with the mic wires in it... Is that the right connector for a Nokia module?

Couple of pics...

Thanks for the help!

Not sure if this will be of any help, but the opposite end of that cabling (same plug) may be found tucked up under the parcel shelf, just behind the BOSE amp plastic housing.  It's on both my Elite's (Mini FaceLift, so may be completely different).

That looks like the prewiring plug for AFTERMARKET phone kits, not the one for the telematics unit that fits in glovebox...

BTW, there is no electrical/electronic different between NCDC2013 and 2015.  The only difference is the legend printed on 2 or 3 of the buttons.

So, why are the mic wires in this connector...?

Do you have already seen an aftermarket phone module with this connector? Which?
You mean I can use a NCDC 2013 with a Nokia phone module...? Absolutely no difference between the 2 headunits?

Never seen this cable before...
Normally, how much pins do have this Nokia phone module connector? What do I need to install one properly and how do it? Is there a "how to" present on the OOF?
