Title: spoiler brake light
Post by: Fazeel on 10 August 2010, 22:40:13
ok, so I have this spoiler fitted on the boot lid,

now the problem is that I think its custom fitted because it has this wire plugged in with the right hand side brake light in the tail light,
what happens because of that is sometimes i dont know how, the right hand side brake light stops working, and I get that message on the display, and i starts working when i remove the wire for the spoiler's brake light.

What do i do to keep then both working ??

Have you actually proved its not working by getting someone to stand behind the car (or reverse up to a wall at night)???????

The Telltale check only measures resistance on the 'lamp' circuit.  It has a tolerance.  If you have extra lights wired into this circuit, it will probably pick up a fault.

yup, checked it by making someone stand at the back, and it doesnt work :(

Its like I have to choose between any one of the lights, lol   :P

im assuming the boot spoiler is after market and you have:

n/s , o/s and a centre rear screen brake light?

are the spoiler lights led?

sorry, left hand right hand rear lights. what im thinking is that regardless of what the display says, you should be able to get all the lights on , unless the light has been wired in "series" and not parallel as led s only work "polarity" wise one way.
