Title: 2000 W 2.5 td indicator stays on
Post by: kitrace10 on 10 August 2010, 22:47:36
Hi i have a 2.5 td 2000 W reg and the passenger side indicator has stuck on solid not flashing and the only way to get it off is to take out a fuse or take the battery lead off. the fuse i am taking out i believe has a triangle on it and from memory had K19 on it , when this fuse is removed lots of things dont work including the computer but if i then turn the indicator on the computer flashes on and off with the indicator. i have found other posts from people with the same problem but nobody seems to be saying if they have found the problem and what it was. Any help appreciated.

its most likely to be the relay.
it is in beside the ecu/battery and is yellow in colour the other thing that can cause this is the hazard switch.
try relay first :y

Does it do it when the ignition is on or just when it's off?

The relay in question is the one behind the glove box and is operated by the CDL/alarm unit  :y

It flashes the lights when you lock/unlock the car and when the alarm goes off.

It can be removed until you get a replacement.

If you remove the glovebox there are a few relays there tucked away. You can narrow it down by locking/unlocking the car with the remote whilst touching the relays in turn until you can feel/hear it click.

You will need to prise it out as its been there for 10 years and will be tight.

Get a replacement at your leisure and pop it back in  :y
