hi my friend is having a problem starting his car on random days. it will turn over but wont fire up. hes had a new battery fitted and tested but it still doing this. it dosent matter what the weather is like, it can be freezing, raining or really hot but it wont fire up. this only happens occansionly and when it does happen, he will go back a few hours or a day later and it will fire up straight away.
anybody got any ideas on what this can be?
the car is a 2.5 v6 automatic omega.
any ideas are appreciated

Intermittent immobiliser problem?
When the starter is engaged, is it trying to fire and wont start, or is it simply just turning over?
-
it is just turning over. dosent even make the effort to fire up???

Need to have a look at lights on Dash, look for the Immobiliser light.
What year is the car?

New to forum dont want to hijack thread but my 3.2 omega has just started with the same symptoms
Thought I solved the problem 8 months ago with crank position sensor(ran with no problems)
Just started similar symptoms again
Can the cam shaft sensor give a similar problem.
Help would be appreciated

do the pedal trick again.
Unlikely to be cam, most likely crank again,
was it genuine or pattern, how did you run the cable to it?
-
Fitted by GM dealer but not in my area too far to go back to them
-
Did pedal trick again constant flashing light
Naturally it is starting okay at the moment!
