Hi all,
Whilst on the M40 today heading for West Midlands Safari Park, the ABS light and the TC light came on, also the speedo packed up. :( :(
Then quite a few miles later both lights went out and the speedo started working.
This intermittent problem came and went all day. :-? Seems a strange combination....anybody got any ideas.
TIA
Tony

ABS/TC ECU failing, have a search it's been covered many times before ;) :y

Not a suggestion, but an absolute fact as to what the problem is.
ABS ECU is Knackered. Needs replacing/refurbing. Very common problem.
It is intermittent now, but will become more and more apparent.

Plenty of people on here with them Second Hand, DLK supplied me with one a few months back.
Be warned, it is a horrible, horrible job. People who say they can do it in 20 minutes make my piss boil ;D
Put aside a good afternoon, and be prepared to nip to a local tool shop to buy specific angled jobbies for Torx ratchet-drivers etc.
A really good 'How-To' is in the Maintenance Guides section. :y

Get yourself one of these...

You know what's likely to happen now you've said that.

Quite evidently, a member of OOF 'sensed' you were having ABS ECU problems, and came in the night (as the Actress said to the Bishop) to replace your ECU!
Either that, or some sh1t got caught up in one of the rings, and worked itself free after a stint up a motorway :y

Andy.....at least a lifeline :y
Following my usual luck, my lifeline will sink without trace ;D
But........ as the problem occured tonking up the motorway...cured itself.....then came on with ignition on and stayed on only for a couple of minutes only after, I think I'll check sensors first and then suck it and see... :y
I don't mind buying the bit if it comes to it....but it may have to be paying an oofer to do the job if anyone interested :y

After doing this job myself only last month I'd strongly recommend you get a flexible screwdriver extension. I got one cheap off eBay, I used a vast combination of different length screw driver extensions with the angled screw driver, but they still weren't ideal. This tool will make it so much better! I'd take u up on your offer if getting someone to do it for you if it wasn't for the distance. You could either get a 2nd hand one, but the same could happen, or get it refurbished, which is what I did and what I'd recommend!
