Title: stereo help

hi all i have a problem with an after market stereo ive fitted one and it fires up but i have no sound at all,i have all the leads needed to change over from the c c r 2006. Has anyone got any clues. Kind regards Bruce. :(

Did you change the speakers and stop the speakers going through the amp as an elite should have a bose sound system in which run on 2 ohm speakers and 99% of aftermarkrt stuff will run at 4 ohms :y ps take the radio straight out

thanks charlie,i guess ive got alot of speakers to change then lol will the amp run at 2 Ohm as well, shall i change that for a 4 ohm too ? Once again thanks for your help  8-)

If its a decent headunit, lose the amp altogether...

Lose the BOSE amp, replace all the speakers with 4 Ohm ones, rewire as necessary

Lots of worth, and well worth the effort when done !!

hi thanks for all the help guys,now i really dont know if i should just get a replacement c c r 2006 or rip it all out and start again.   ;D

hi there bud its not that hard to by pass the amp if you have the rite leads to do it with or if your good with hard  wiring and you should be able to use the speakers that are in the car as they are made by bose .  :y

but as said above, if it's a Bose system the speakers will be 2 Ohms instead of a more usual 4 Ohms.  ;)

NO! NO! NO!

BOSE speakers cannot be used with an aftermarket head unit, the impedances are wrong.

GM Bose = 2 Ohms impedance

Aftermarket and the rest of the world = 4 Ohms impedance
