I have a ncdc 2015 with colour info display and i was wondering if it can be replaced with a cd70 unit. i would like to replace just the unit not the cid too. i want to do this because i can't find maps for eastern europe for ncdc because aparently they think its too old but in 5 minutes they can import them easily from cd70 to ncdc

Easy answer - No !!
Your car does not have the CANBUS signals required to operate the CD30/CD70/CD70/DVD90
:(

can you please explain what is that??

CANBUS - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Controller_area_network
Basically it's a complicated microprocessor controlled communications protocol that lets all the various devices in (modern) cars talk to each other via as few wires as possible.

Its something I am looking into, but its not straightforward on the Omega, sadly...
Whether or not I'll have time to complete the project, who knows...

Well COME ON, can't have anything better to do surely...? :D ;)
Pre order dvd90 please...WITH tmc. ::) ;D

It IS possible but will require alot of work.
A fully working CD70 & full GID has been installed in a MK3 Cavalier.
He did however need the CIM and other modules for a canbus Vectra to get it up and running
Another issue with the Omega is the CD70 CID is wider than the one on and Omega (and bigger than the one found in the half canbus Vectra C/ Signum NCDC CID) and it doesn't have the date/ time adjustments on the top like the Omega on so dash cutting will be needed.

I don`t think the Cavalier install you mention has overcome the problem of the unit shutting down after a period of time between 20 mins and 1 hour due to a can signal still missing
Thats the stumbling block I am struggling to get around

The Cavalier and the Omega are entirely different beasts.
You could lift all the stuff from a Vectra, implement in enough of the ECUs required, and put it in a Cav without too much trouble beyond the wiring headaches.
If I did this with the Omega, I would want to retain features such as the Fuel Computer, Audio controls on steering wheel, check control systems etc. Its a much more in depth project, failing at first hurdle currently with the CD70 talking to the screen, and allowing both to power up properly.
