Title: Washers
Post by: des.allen on 17 October 2010, 13:21:24
Hi All, Can anyone please tell me where and how to get to the connections for the washer bottle. My fuse keeps blowing and i have checked all the wires around the wiper motor etc and noticed the fuse only blows if I use the washers TIA

Pre-facelift/mini-facelift - open the bonnet, remove the grill and the pump is just below where the grill was.

Facelift - just open the bonnet.

If it blows when you use then it could be the motor seized or jammed up with gunge :y

Cheers for quick reply,  Problem is it doesnt always do it! I have removed wet foam from under skuttle and taped up the wires going to the wiper motor and this is the next port of call, I hate wireing so just trying to make sure there is nothing obvious.

Bloody wipers decided to pack up again on motorway >:( anyone had simular problems? the fuse just randomly blows and sometimes goes straight away or can be ok for ages then go at the worst possible moment.

Try disconnecting the washer pump and drive it for a while, you need to determine if the fault is with the pump or the wipers.

what a good idea  :y why didnt I think of that! It seems to blow when you either pull for washers or just give it a nudge to go onto a quick wipe if you know what i mean? but then again it can just stop mid sweep which it decided to do last night >:(
