Title: ncdc 2013 and cid, what length of cable do i need
Post by: humbucker on 26 October 2010, 10:16:39
when fitting a cid and ncdc head unit can anyone advise on the cables and connectors required? i read this guide which advised on the 32 and 12 pin connectors, but wondered about the cables going from gps antenna... from the donor car is it enough to just rip a length of loom from the correct parts and fuse them into the loom of a non cid/2013 enabled vehicle?

Nicks guide pretty much covers it, the additional wiring is for the CID screen, the GPS antenna plugs into the back of the NCDC.

Dont quiet understand the 2nd post, if you mean the NCDC is Bose then no, your MV6 wont have Bose loom Amp and speakers, but could be retro fitted or get the NCDC Tech 2'd back to standard mode, but I think you need the Audio Pass Card for that.

I take it the NCDC and CID are sourced from the same vehicle.

ncdc and cid are from same vehicle but didnt know if the 'voice' of the satnav was imcompatible with non bose fitted vehicles.

so the additional wiring can be lifted from the donor vehicle and then this can be retro fitted into the loom of my facelift mv6 using the supplied connectors (mentioned in nicks guide) without any further loom required?

You should have everything in your car except for the 12-pin CID connector (and possibly GPS connector)

Minor rework of wiring, best done on a TM loom. This is a good place to splice the RGB cable from as well.

Minor soldering in CID, or can do it on wiring - not essential unless you need to tech2 it at any point (which you will if ifs not from same car config as yours - engine, gearbox, wheelsize, HIDs etc etc).

GPS lead you won't get out of the donor, and getting plugs that fit the cage seems impossible. Not the end of the world, I just used a receiver that sits by tax disc, works well enough.

The Bose/Non Bose is simply a config setting on the NCDC headunit. Tech2 to reconfigure.
