Having fitted a new battery at the weekend I duly went through the code procedures for radio and CD player and everything was fine.
Came to test CD player today (long journey coming up Monday) and cartridge would not eject. The eject symbol was flashing. Removed unit and top until I could remove cartridge and then refitted to car. Eject function worked fine and then came the crunch...
Inserted a music CD and switched from tuner to CD and came up with ERROR CDC on dash display. Removed cartridge and tried different CDs in various positions in the cartridge but the same result each time (label facing up as per instructions naturally).
Looking through the first dozen or so pages this would seem to be a sensor/laser issue and therefore mein Blaupunk ist kaput! >:(
Do these come up on ebay and/or from breakers? Is it possible to replace this with another unit (not necessarily Blaupunkt) to restore CD function please? Is there a part number for this unit, if so is it actually on the changer?

Sadly its megabucks to fix the ERROR CDC fault, and it may well be worth trying to look for another changer first.
But beware !!!
There are lots of versions of CDC2, and they ARE NOT interchangeable. Have a look on the label, and you will find a 10 digit number, starting with a 7 that looks similar to this
7 123 456 789
Make sure thet the changer you get has EXACTLY the same number to ensure compatability. If you get one without a code number, no worries, I can supply the CD Code via our website

Thanks for this - well, not really :( how much is megabucks roughly?
My existing changer has 10-digit code beginning with an 8 not a 7:
8 631 177 771
The part number is 90 566 804 and has W1G in large letters below.
I don't imagine for one moment - it would be far too convenient - that it's possible to substitute another make/model of changer to integrate with the CCRT700 setup.

Look on the other label, the one with a ten digit part number starting with a 7
And no, you cannot use any other changer - its dedicated to one particular version only.

Another label... duh!! :D
OK... this one is damaged but reads:
7 607 797 321
Presumably I have to match this number entirely for the set to be compatible? Bit like trying to get the jackpot on National Lottery...

Exactly that, and with the number of Oofers now looking for you, it should be somewhat easier than getting all eight numbers on tonights lottery
