If you don't want to scratch the rubber finish you can take the door card off in about 10 minutes & push the switch out from behind.

i didn't knew that and i scratched the rubber, but there are many more so 2 won't count :). is there any way to refurbish the door cards rubber

p.s. how can i fix the upper part of the door card because it has practicly detached itself from the part that comes under the window and now when the engine is cold its making a rattle noise (i have diesel).

mine done that, the metal clips holding it to the top of door are only attatched to a piece of plastic which is glued to the door, take doorcard off again and re-glue plastic strip with some decent glue  :y
