Title: Price to knock off?
Post by: Albatross on 21 February 2008, 19:22:55
Hi,

I've bought (put the deposit down on) a Facelift 3.2 Elite (Y plate 2001). The only missing part, or problem with the car is that the central headrest is missing. (Dark Grey Leather).

The agreement with the seller was that he would find one, but as yet he has been unable to source one before I go to pick the car up.

He's not an OOF member though  :o

What is a reasonable price to knock off the car to put aside until I find one? The price of the car is £2700.

Or where could I find one?

This is the colour to confirm:

Those centre headrest are like gold dust, sure it aint in the boot in the cubby hole?, if not you will have to knock of at least £1500.00, and it just so happens I have one the same colour, that I can sell to you for £1499.99 :y

PM 'Jim' on here, he may still have one left.

Mine was missing as well so I snapped one up when Jim said he had a couple spare. It is a slightly different shade to the leather in my car (I think mine is 'anthracite' and this one was 'black') but to be honest I only ever fit it if there are three passengers in the back, I must say that it was absolutely immaculate.

Other than that I have never been able to locate one anywhere (eBay, Scrapyards etc) in 12 months!

despite the fact that you have two members on here offering you a headrest i would still try and get discount.

start at £150 and settle at £100, that's near enough a couple of tanks of fuel after all

Cheers Jim,

I'm new to this Miggy m'larky and so am not familiar with the various seat colour options. Are yours the same colour as my seats in the pics?

PM me with a price if you prefer.

To be honest the 2 headrests I have are black and I think your interior is charcoal which is more dark grey than black

Not surprised they get lost. First thing I did with mine is chuck it in the loft so I could see out the rear window. I doubt you'll miss it, but get some money off nonetheless. Might be worth phioning up VX for a price! It would be a good bargaining tool!

Strangely, I keep the MV6 one in place all the time, don't see it as a visibility problem.  Probably comes from 10yrs driving vans, so any bit of rear window is a luxury  :-/

Both other Omegas I've owned have been missing middle one.

I have always had all 3 in place all the time - no problems.

But then I have three pests
