Title: self levelling suspension - all on fuse 27?
Post by: Varche on 10 December 2010, 19:19:40
Is the pump and the level sensor on the rear suspension all on the same fuse(27) please?

I have proved the pump works on other car. Having the sensor (arm disconnected) in up, down or other position and waiting doesn't make the pump work with ignition on and engine not running.

I am thinking the level sensor is kaput.

Also fuse 15, but that runs many things such as reverse lights, cigar lighter, cruise control etc. so if they all work it's unlikely to be fuse 15. Have you tried another 20a fuse in #27? I wonder if it's possible to strip the sensor switch to clean it?

Cruise has been working, haven't had a cigar for what 50 years so don't know if cigar lighter is .

Will give stripping the sensor and cleaning it a try on Sunday. Thanks for that. Oh and I will try different fuse too. You know how they look alright.................. :y

Is thump plugged in? Is the relay present? 27 also runs the rear aux socket between the rear heated seat buttons. So if that works.....

I took the pump off and tested it on my other car.

I am going to try and clean the sensor internals this evening.

What relay is it that operates please?

Discussed exactly this with Kevin today as it happens, in the fuse box under the steering wheel, its one of the smaller ones at the top , left side, beside the diagnostic port, the other of the two is high beam, so if that stops working it's the other one ;D

On my 3.2 anyway...?

Pump back on. Had sensor to bits. Nothing in it to clean. Changed relay for a known worker still nothing.

So am giving up. It will be a miracle if the self levelling shocks actually still work looking at them.

Going to buy new KYB non self levellers and have done.
