Seem to remember you need 2 codes one for HU and the other for the CD changer, the CD code is entered bt pushing the CD button and not the AS one.

Dont go to mad or your run out attempts before it locks up.

CD-SAFE 3

means 3 attempts left before the unit is permenently locked. Yes it has its own code.

Nothing particularly useful in the instruction book - its a simple system to use :)

To enter the CD code, which is different to the Radio code

Ign On   <<vital!
Radio Off   <<vital!
Press and hold 0 and turn radio on
After bleep, release 0, enter code in same way as you did radio code (ie, 1 to change firstd digit, 2 to change 2nd, 3 for 3rd and 4 for 4th)
Press and hold 0 until bleep
If code is accepted, it should work.

Thats because you first need to obtain a correct code via the site - very clear that the code you have is incorrect of you are on SAFE 3

the seven previous wrong attempts would suggest to me that you may not have the right code.

As to what difference does it make where you got it? Well, as the developer and designer of much of the radio decode software and hardware found in the world, to me it matters very much. No financial incentive for me to assist any further if you are going to pay someone else for an incorrect code.

By the way - should you lock that one up with any more more wrong attempts, then I`m afraid its GAME OVER !!  We no longer reset or service that model of changer as its no longer cost effective, and since Blaupunkt were sold off a few years ago, very few of the service centres now have the equipment required

Your choice.

maybe if i explained some more , when i bought the car which was last week the CD wasnt working , but the Radio was , then yesterday a garage changed the heater Radiator for me , doing this they had to recode the Radio to get it to work ? i asked them to do the CD & they said it wasnt giving them the ---- to put in a code , so i bought the vehicle home & i tried it myself , its the first time i have tried to get the CD to work , so it must of been the previous owners that tried to put in a code not me , if ppl cant do it as its a old player then i guess it may be easier if i was to buy another one ...... thanks for your help i do appreciate it

I fully understand what you are saying.

However, whilst your radio code appears to be correct, it is very clear that the previous owners did not know the radio code either - this is confirmed as the garage would not have had enough hours in the day to get 7 wrong attempts entered.

Your changer is codelocked, but you only have 3 attempts left - therefore, BEFORE you start messing around button pressing and trying to enter anything else, its vital that you obtain the correct code from a reliable source - but bear in mind that the previous owners did not have it either, so anything you have from them with regards to a number can be easily dismissed.

By the way, the changer will need to be removed to get the numbers from the labels and also the engraved one, that is required to obtain the code.

By all means ring me at the office on Monday -

Or explain the confusion you have?

As I understand it.

The previous owners did not know the CD code

Therefore you have not been given the CD code by the previous owners.

7 incorrect attempts have been made in entering a code

There are not infinate attempts at doing this.

Within the next three attempts, you could permanently lock your changer - if you do, thats it.

You want to know how to unlock your changer to enter another number, irrespective of the fact that you do not have the number, and do not seem to appreciate how stupid that actually is, with respect to the number of remaining attempts - all of those three remaining attempts are vital.

To obtain a code number, the numbers are needed from the side of your Changer, but you will have to remove it first to see them.

And finally, yes, I have directed you to my website, where a nominal charge will be made - I do not do this for free.

Please let me know which bit is confusing ?

i think what he is trying to say is that he cannot get anything up on the display to input the code, not that he is inputing wrong code  :y

Yes, I know - but what I don`t want to do is encourage him to waste the last three remaining attempts by trying an unknown number
