Hi Guy
Following my post earlier last week that all is well with the miggy - it seems the battery has given up the ghost..... :(
Wondering what the standard Ah rating and CCA is for a 2.6 V6?
Cheers

65 Ah for 2.6, don't know the CCA rating though

Thanks Geoff - I've seen some good deals on 55Ah batteries (3yr warranty etc...) - and don't have a tradecard to get one from Vx so need to shop around for a good 3rd party one....
I'm guessing 55Ah will be ok - and around 450ccA?

See if someone near you can get one on TC for you.
Before I got my TC I went to a local battery 'specialist', who told me that my 3.0 litre was rated at 55 Ah!! Eh! I fitted it as nothing else he had was the right size (the physical dimensions). I'd go overkill but it won't fit.
I since found out it takes a much higher rated battery, but still have my 55 Ah one in. It's been OK upto now, but for how long?!?!?! :-[
I would go for the highest rated one you can afford/fit in the whole.

Yeah, genuine wasn't too bad on TC, just under £50 IIRC.
Koomorph if you're not far from where I work, I could pick one up for you (work in Chertsey, the dealer is in West Byfleet).

Saying that when I went to the dealers a few weeks back for a battery fo rmy dads transit, they said they were back ordered and carried on with the rest of my order.
Not knowing what hes was talking about, I again asked about a battery before i left, he again said they're back ordered. I still don't know what he's on about. I didn't get a battery!
Wherever you get your battery from make sure it's not been sat on the shelf for 10 years and has got duff cells, like I did when I got two new 125 Ah batteries for the fire engine, at £240!! Eh! They were duff, and the ones after that were duff!

I think they probably do a brisker trade in 'normal' sized batteries, though :D
When I went in they'd ordered a few in (which they were rapidly selling out of) because of the cold weather.. which they expected (rightly, I imagine) to kill plenty of batteries off :)

Very kind of you to offer Aaron - I'm in South Croydon so not too far at all - and £50 is about the budget that my dad can spare after Christmas and all that....
Are the Vx ones warrantied?
Cheers
