Had to disconnect the battery lately. Now trying to enter the codes. we Everything switched off. Press the as button, hold down & switch radio on. It asks for code. code entered press as again to store, but comes up as safe again which should mean wrong code. I think the code is right.
Are we doing anything wrong?, Cheers, Guy.

We have sounds again! But had to refit the original CCR600 head unit, autochanger is fine too. Still sounds as good as with the CCR800 as the Bose wiring & speakers are still in place. I'll have to search for the CCR800 code or hope MM has it from the Elite it came from. If not off to Audio island to get it wiped!!!
Thanks for the help Guy.
P.S. When we plugged the original CCR600 back in the display read radio FORTH.... Broocie's spirit lives on in the car!!!! 8-)

The audio response will be wrong. You'll also find that low volume control isn't ideal, and its easy to overdrive the amp.
I wouldn't run it too long like that to be honest.
If you have no joy with Marky Mark, I have a CCR800 here with code...

Code for the CCR800 is available online

Sadly i don't have the relative details to submit. All i know is it came from a blue Elite. We obviously had the code at the time but i can't find it now & it's not written on the head unit.

Cheers Jaime. I wondered why the volume knob was playing up as it never used too. Works fine off the steering wheel button though. I was @MM's for a coffee yesterday. He gave me the code, i'll just have to hope i can find it.
Despite everything in the past he wished you all well & misses the forum & Migs. He's still keeeping his Dad's estate going! 8-)

Don`t understand? What details do you think you are missing, as I need is the 14 digit serial number that is engraved on the side of the stereo - if you have the stereo, then you have the information needed.

I think I'd be banging on the desk at the garage & leave it with them to sort or replace at their expense.

I think I will do it at some point. But driving without tune is depressing :(

Someone knowledgeable than me will advise, but there's a time element involved when entering a wrong code. The time interval increases between tries as you enter incorrect codes.
PS you're better to start your own thread so that more will see it. ;) ;) :y

If you have used up all of your attempts, you could be waiting longer than that !!
What model stereo do you have?
