Title: CDR500
Post by: ffcgary1 on 29 January 2011, 17:28:55
Hi all ,
i have been able to obtain a CDR500 and want to fit it into my 97 prefacelift tourer, i have the radio pass to go with it so have the code as well.
I fitted it to the car and it works without the code being entered, but the display does not show the radio stations or track no,s, is this a display programing error or is it not compatable with my cars display(MID) i think, so can any one help me please, over to you lot, Gary.

There are two versions of Vauxhall vehicle displays, one with 8 Digits and one with 10 Digits. If you connect this stereo to the wrong display, code entry is possible, but the display will either freeze or dissappear once the code has been entered. To reprogram, Turn off the Radio, Press and Hold Presets "3" & "5" at the same time, whilst switching the radio back on, and this will toggle between the two display modes.

(some radio`s its "4" & "6" instead - depends what you have)

i have done exactly as dave has said, but it will not change to 8 digits from 10 digits. 3&5 works 4&6 does diddly squat.

This one too worked fine in the vectra it came out which also had a MID screen. Spooky.
I wish vx could just have std ised all their systems.
It is just done to confuse everyone out side gm trained staff or stealers, the latter seem to be the worst. ::)

Pressing the buttons should display either 10 or 8 and repeating the process should toggle between the two
