Title: boy racers
Post by: brett1408 on 21 February 2008, 12:34:44
bored the other night so i went out in the car, friday night town centre, boy racers everywhere, bumped into a mate who's one of em who suggested i come to macdonalds with him, loads of em there, plus more chavs in one place than you'd ever think you'd see! there were some very nice motors there too amongst the half finished saxo's and punto's and nova's, a couple of skylines in various states of modification, a lancer evo, a mint series 1 escort rs turbo, but guess what almost stole the show? yes, amazingly a lot of the young lads liked the jag! all its leather and walnut and chrome was new to them and the fact it has a 4 litre 24v straight six seemed to gain it instant respect! it did look good, all its chrome glinting under the neon lights, had a really good time talking about cars i've owned and what can be done to make cars quicker, i wont be so quick to slag em off now, really good bunch of lads and lasses!

You are more tolerant than I.  As soon as I hear or see a boy racer car I just want to tear it to pieces along with the occupants.  ::)

I don't like the idiot ones,.... but some of them are quite good at modding cars with little money....

At the end of the day everybody has to start somewhere ....you can't just go out and buy a V6 car at 17 years old ...not unless you've got more money than sense anyway..... ;)

Were any of the girls hot? It always amazes me some of the nice looking girls you see hanging around with boy racers who clearly have no taste when you see their 1.2 Corsa with 6" diameter halfords special tailpipe etc ::)

I used to pick on boy racers with both 250cc bikes and my Sunbeam

I used to run Suzuki GS250Ts - cheap to run and easy to use

Saw 205 and XR3 traffic lights revving - I pulled up between them - I won ;D ;D ;D ;D.

The Sunbeam was a good hot hatch killer. even though it was one - albeit correct wheel drive

A lot of people think that the Golf GTI was the first hot hatch when in actual fact ist was the Talbot or Sunbeam. Especially the Horizon with the 2ltr rear wheel drive mod. 8-)

At that age we had Cortinas, Escorts, Anglias, Vivas, Minis, 11/1300's etc. We covered the interiors with fur, fitted tiny steering wheels, CB radios (A.M) & stayed out all night just hanging about. I remember going to scrappies For 11'1300 orange side repeaters which we used to wire up behind the radiator grille & call them cruise lights!!!!
Yes we drove like tw*ts., some of us still do, but we were all young once. 8-)

theres a small roundabout near me where the bikes used to race round reaching 80 mph, 2 died in a day now its barriers up all round, kids used to flock there to watch them. you never think it will happen to you thats the problem i think. you wise up as you get mature in life. it took 2 kids for me to slow down in life.

Except for the fur I could have written this myself, remember side pipes? :y
it is important to remember that we were all young once, but there was not the number of 'scroats' around then.

two of the local boy racers came unstuck at the local Mcd's a couple of weeks ago how can you have a head on crash on a one way system but the really daft thing is that the girls in the front seat weren't wearing seat belts you can guess the rest
