Title: pre f/l electric window switch removal
Post by: bigegg on 27 March 2011, 20:29:22
The ongoing saga of my MV6 continues...

It's a '98 mini f/l, and has the pre-f/l centre window controls.

The front passenger window switch needs cleaning or replacing - it won't move the window up, except when I insert a thin blade screwdriver down one side of the switch case.

So...

Can one of the switches be replaced seperately, or both (front and back) together?
How do I unplug the switches?
Do the wires pull off the switches, or is there a plug under the brake/gearbox cowling?

if you have rear vents in the centre console-the centre console will have to come off the switch connecters are in there, you will also need to take gearstick surround off and then prise the switches out  :y
they can be replaced seperately  :y
if you try to prise them out without removing the surround they break  :(   i know  :-[

switches removed from surround easily enough, without any breakage.  :y

is there a guide for removing centre console?
