Title: Stereo head unit

Are there any head units that would fit a facelift omega with MP3 port at all as this will save me from carrying around all those cd's which keep getting scratched?
 In the old days all head units were more or less one size/style but now they are much bulkier items the model currently in mine is a CD player/radio as was standard for a GLS (i think it is a CAR600???).

None that are simply plug and play.

There are plenty of aftermarket units that will. Its a fairly standard Double Din setup, but will need wiring mods. Likely you'll lose steering wheel and display functions, though quality branded items may offer expensive adapters if you need these.

Single DIN will also fit by using an adapter, though same wiring/functionality issues obviousl still exist
