Is this paired or connected to the keyfob ? I had a request for both, but have been advised to keep the keyfob with the engine ECU and ignition transponder.
Just want to check whats the best way to proceed.

Not paired to C/L module.......and you only need the transponder chip from the key blade with the ECU and immobiliser ring

Just to clarify - If this person needs a central locking/alarm ecu, is there any reason for them to need the keyfob with it ?

They will need the PIN number off the car pass to pair any additional keyfobs with the alarm/CL ECU.
Alarm/CL ECU is paired with the remote transmitter part of the keyfob only.
Engine ECU is paired with the transponder chip in the key blade horseshoe thing and also the immobiliser transceiver which fits around the lock barrel.

Thanks Kevin.I dont think its going to be feasible to keep the chip and keyblade for use with the engine ecu/ door lockset, and let the remote transmitter go with the alarm ecu. :-/
Want to keep everyone happy, but not sure its going to happen with this one. Might offer your suggestion of the pin number with the alarm ecu. :-/

Why not?
Only thing that's any use with the alarm/CL ECU is the fob transmitter so separate it from the blade part of the key.
Equally, if someone wants a lock set, they probably have the fob transmitter and immobiliser chip, so just need the blade.
Finally, the engine ECU will only be of interest to anyone if it is kept with the immobiliser chips and lock barrel device so remove these from the key blade.

If it helps you in your quest to achieve complete happiness then I'm sure that I still have a few c/l e.c.u.'s with matching two button fobs, knocking around...
