Hi guy's.
I'm in the process of sourcing a new battery and would really value the opinions of a more experienced oofer than myself.
After being scared off by the prices at Halfords I have been searching the internet for a good deal.
I have found the following battery for £50.00 all in, which also comes with a 4 year guarantee.
It just seems to good to be true that's all.
The next cheapest one's I can find are from Euro car parts which start at £62.34, so the £50.00 one is obviously very appealing.
The CCA on my current battery is 600 and on this one it is only 570.
I'm assuming such a small differance will be fine.....am I wrong?
My car is a 2001 2.2 CD Auto petrol.
Any opinions are greatly recieved as always.
I won't buy this one or any other one untill I've recieved some advice as I don't want to waste my hard earned money.
Thanks a Million :y :y :y

The GM "Go" batteries are very good quality and the prices on trade club are quite keen. I don''t think there'd be enough saving to go for a completely unknown brand in comparison. :-/

I've just realised that the battery for £50.00 looks smaller then the one on my car so I think I may need this one for £65.00 ::) ::)

Or can either one go on my car????? :-? :-?

If you were nearer me, I'd willing get you one. If you need a battery in a hurry before you can sign up to ABS (who will take you as a member, even though you are missing 2 cylinders), I'm sure a local member can help out.

Incidentally, I too vote got GM Go, and have one on my MV6.
Looks like the Elite will be getting one for next winter, thats still on its original battery. And it shows ;D

That's 'cos you never drive it. ;D
My original battery is fine <crosses fingers>.

Prices aside,
from my experience, the Vx batteries are superb, and are the ones we tend to fit when upgrading the audio systems and fitting a second battery.

i use varta in the car and bikes, very good batteries

Clearly price is the issue here so probably no Varta or Bosch or similar.
Stick to genuine ones, good and cheap

I may be shot down in flames, but the terminals seem to be reversed on the featured batteries in the links, opposite to the standard battery. May cause problems when fitting. Apologies if I am wrong. :y

Indeed - fudgee, whereabouts in Surrey are you? If you're near enough the top (I work in Chertsey) end I'll happily swing by Vx and pick up a battery on TC for you.

When I was after a battery for my old dieseasel Vectra the cheapest place I could source one from was my local Vauxhall dealer. Not only were they the cheapest but they offered the longest warranty.
Go in and ask for a quote, when they tell you the price put a pained expression on your face accompanied by a sharp intake of breath and say that you would really prefer to use original quality parts but you can't afford the cost...
If you are nice and polite with them then you are likely to get trade prices...
As for Halfords, I've just brought a pair of Bosch wiper blades from them for £9.50, regular price is around 18-20 squids.

Ok. I will shoot myself down. I was wrong.
Teach me to post when under the influence.....you want to see the rubbish I bought on ebay at the same time. :'(
