If you can be more specific about the location of the damage, then I'll have a look at my loom which is hanging out of the engine bay at the moment.

ok,if you look at the wire for the oil pressure switch which runs between the block and the alternator, theres another wire which is beside it,i thought maybe oil level sensor but it seem s to be all intact

ok so i had a look, and run the engine up to temp, must be temp related,as soon as you put ign on guage goes to about 92,and no matter what temp its at,eg cold or fan been on,doesnt move from 92,but cant figure out where it goes to,any help would be appreciated

A photograph would help.

The temperature sender is in the coolant bridge at the back of the engine, I don't think the wire to it goes anywhere near the alternator.

its ok guys, found out wot the wire was,it had nothing to do with anything, the knock sensor had been changed on that side and the sensor was still behind the alternator and the wire just cut off and i hadnt noticed it before, and the temp problem turned out to be the clocks not seated properly after i had them out to change a bulb,so there we go!
