Title: Philips SC804 Help
Post by: Humpy on 27 April 2011, 20:17:20
Hi, just fitted another SC804 in SWMBO's car to get the CD player working again (long story). I can't find my Audio book to find out how to manual tune the radio :-( Is there anywhere I can get a PDF copy of the Audio booklet for the Omega?
Also, the new radio does what mine does, when you switch it on its starts scanning straight away. It will eventually settle on a station or you can press one of the presets and it'll find that straight away. Is this a fault or a function? Is there something you can do to stop this happening? It's no biggy but it's a bit of a fag!!
Thanks all.

Its a feature - when first powered up, it will scan the available stations and store them in memory for use when the RDS wants to change to a stronger station, and it now knows where it is.

Turning OFF the RDS usually stops it, but pointless really, as its quite a good feature if you listen to the radio a lot.

Ah, I see! Cheers Dave, I'll turn the RDS off and see what gives. As long as I know it's a feature rather than a fault I can live with it  :)

One down, one to go. Anybody know how to manual tune an SC804?

dbr,

I tried that but it still skips over channels that I know are there when you release your finger off the button! Unless it's something to do with the RDS function Dave DND pointed out  :-/ If you could scan the manual I'd be greatful  :y
