Title: Programming keys
Post by: Lazydocker on 11 May 2011, 21:57:19
Just a quick question here... If you get hold of a replacement key remote and put your blade and immobiliser chip in, can you sync the remote in the normal way or does it have to be physically programmed first?

That was what I thought... I'll just get mine refurbished one at a time then........

......... Martin Imber to the rescue! ;D ;D ;D

One works, the other doesn't, although it may just be a flat battery, but both have slightly loose battery holders and a bit of cardboard behind them to hold them in place ::) ::)

And I've got a Vx invoice for 2 new keys not that long ago :-X :-X :o :o

I have the same problem with my spare key/fob. If I try to use it, nothing happens except the led stays lit. If I then spit the key & remove the battery to turn the led off, it the fob will generally work as it should  :-? :-? :-? until the next time I want to use it.  :(

They've done away with the LED though. Which I guess makes them Vectra fobs?

Last 3 button alarm fob I bought, last year, was £27, which is what I would do if I didn't have the capability of repairing my own.  Would need to check, but thought mine did have the pointless LED...
