Hi. I'd like to say thanks to Bruce and Barry and everyone else who helped to fix my car. :y
It took absolutely ages (over five hours) because the thermostat housing was stuck and when everything got put back together the water leaked out.
It was a real pain of a job but Bruce kept smiling all the time even though he was absolutely fed up with it.
The guys spent over five hours on my car when they could have been sorting out their own.
Thanks very much for a job well done! :y
The heater works great now and I drove the 220 miles home at normal operating temp and no problems at all. :y
Three garages couldn't fix it but Bruce and Barry did.
Thanks ever so much! :y
-
ah thats why they had a crate of stella in their boot... ::) well done to everbody yesterday..never seen so many miggys in 1 place... :y :y
-
By the way, I think I owe someone some money for the thermostat housing and pipe. Can you let me know? :y
-
nice to know you got your car sorted! and at not a great cost ether!
its a great feeling when its workin correctly again......and you cant ask for a better bunch of lads to help out.
i am defo making it to the next meet come hell or high water. ;D ;D ;D
-
Glad it better.....I loved the cleaning rag in the valley under the inlet!
-
Great job :y
What was the problem in the end? (coming from one who needs to do this job shortly.. ::))

Well, we couldn't get the bridge pipe out but, Issunaz had a spare pipe and stat housing which was lucky.
The route cause was that there was NO stat in the stat housing and whoever had been there before had not fitted the Bstard bolt!

Amazing. (although I thought the stat was integrated into the housing..). So was it mr. hacksaw to the rescue then?
-
It was a big hammer to the rescue! ;D

Broocie and I were discussing the woes of car engine designers on this job. they obviously never work on engines themselves. You can see them in the design room saying "look at this one lads I've come up with a really good Idea to make engine repairs a real ba$tard of a job"
-
It seems daft to have the stat in the middle of the engine. Are all engines like this?
-
You're welcome, Kate. Glad to be of assistance...
-
Email me your address Bruce and I'll send you some wine! I'ts not that bad!
Thanks again! :y

I think this is the story of the weekend. I remember when Kate came on here as a newbie, desperate for some help as the garages around her way either couldn't or wouldn't help her.
With a bit of gentle persuasion she trusted this lot (have to watch that trusting side of your personality Kate) and got her car fixed and met some great guys.
The OOF really does strike again. :y

I watched a lot of that saga throughout the day and it was the story of the weekend. What a pleasure to see so much time and effort, chiefly, but not exclusively, from Broocie and Barry produce such a great result, from what looked at one stage almost a lost cause.
The life saving spare came from the boot of Issunaz and Mandy's Fiesta, by the way.
-
Well thanks very much for the parts issunaz, thats very kind of you! :y
I really enjoyed the day and it was exciting seeing my car all in bits while I was 220 miles from home! ;D
Bruce and Barry were great and never looked pi**ed off even though they were sick as chips.
Thanks also to Bill for his support and encouragement! :y
I'm looking forward to the next meeting as Keswick is not that far from me.
By the way, am I the only woman with a mig that goes to meetings, I wasn't sure?
Thanks everyone! :y

I'm still trying to figure out how they managed to fit so many Omegas into the back of a Fiesta!

Lol, when I was unloading the car last night I also found a stat housing and bridge pipe......which I forgot I had!

No offence. :)
SWMBO and 3 stepsons and her family are all from Sunderland, it’s an in joke. More of a Joke is that the boys and my daughter support Sunderland football team, leaves them wide open. ;D ;D ;D

No offence taken! ;D To be honest I hate it round here and would rather be back in Berkshire where I used to live.
Anyone who supports Sunderland must be mad. They must be very used to disappointment! ;D
