Title: Oil for my new compressor
Post by: ricardo1500 on 28 February 2008, 20:11:17
Just relieved Aldi of one of their compressors on special offer.  It comes with a minimal amount of oil not quite up to the min level.  The manual states SAE 30 oil which of course I dont have so would some of my Vauxhalls semi synth do any harm? Its range does cover SAE 30 does it not

Your choice....  I just topped mine up.  You sure it needs any just yet?  Normally shipped with oil upto the mark, ready to work.....   :-/

Yup its low.....level surface puts the oil about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way up the sight glass, manual says between half way and full.  Oh and theres a great big sticker attatched to the on button instructing you to top it up.  Quite why they skimp on the last bit of oil can only be down to price but it seems a bit petty to me.  Still it was a good deal, just hope SWMBO doesnt notice the other boxes full of new air tools!!

I use Vx semi., I drained the old out first, doesn't take much more than a thimble full.
