Title: DIS pack quote
Post by: megaomega123 on 03 March 2008, 10:53:47
Been quoted £100+vat for a dis pack change. Thats not including dis pack itself, but have sourced 1 for £70.

Is this a reasonable quote?

I am a bit put off by the awkwardness to try it myself  :-[

Its not hard just awkward, although i think you will have the vertical one on yours which is just a tad more frustrating

It is horizontal from what i can tell by feel alone. Horizontal at a slight angle but a definate 3 top 3 bottom.
Can anybody confirm a part number?
1995 2.5 petrol

thats the vertical one, where the leads come off it towards the bulkhead, horizontal ones sit upright where the leads come off the top, can be a bit confusing :-/

Ah I see. I was thinking of horizontal and vertical layout rather than mount. It all becomes clear lol, yes it is vertical. So typically I have the most awkward. :-/

I find them easier, the securing bolts are easier to get at.

Mine is 100% vertical then  :y

Just need to get the right part number. Vauxhall said it needs to come off to check the number on the one in situ  :o

The seller of the link that I gave, joined the forum last night after I told him about it, so I am sure he will discount it a bit  ;) ;)

Right, I will give it a bash I think! At least the weather is on my side this week :y
