I have just read on another forum :-[ that any dealer selling a car has, by Law, to give a minimum of 3 months warranty, I have not heard of this, though I am aware of 'fit for purpose' anyone know about this?

ISTR this is the case... Quite often they don't though and will just pay out for the odd car that needs something during that time ::) ;)
Personally I don't think any Used Car Warranty (with the exception of the Network Q one) is worth the paper it's written on ::) ::)
The Network Q warranty, however, is better than a New Car Warranty because it also covers consumables :y :y

Please do not just read and ignore, where is the legislation to support this?

All the major manufacturers offer a warranty like network Q on used cars!
Unless it says Sold As Seen PX TO CLEAR on the invoice then you do get a warranty! 3 months iirc

Even then, it still has to be fit for purpose though, iirc :-\

The legislation is Sale of Goods Act but I suspect dealers offer the warranties to prtoect themsleves -from the attached situations:
