Not like OOF :( :( Posted a very basic question on a Jeep forum an hour ago, 2 views and not response... ::) ::) ::) Mind, only 4 members on line at the moment... :D :D :D
Just show how good OOF is... :y :y
-
Strange isn't it. Such a huge difference. Once read the OOF was "an excellent and highly technical forum"... Possibly written by Honest John maybe...? (You know what my memory is like).
Why so good here and so poor elsewhere? :-\ certainly the vag and fiat forums are fairly hopeless too ime.
Neighbor tells me there are some good BMW forums though. :-\
-
Citroen C5 Forum is very poor, not much of use on it........... :(
-
it's the people that MAKE the forum....
and we're fortunate to have an admin team and membership here that makes others look both lazy and stupid....
I'm on the admin team for an audio specialist forum , with about 90,000 members....
i have been known to cite OOF as an example of what I personally consider a generally well run, engaging, and typically friendly , and always helpful forum.

And the question was? I reckon you'll get a sensible answer from someone here before they manage it :-X ::)
-
I found the Mercedes forum quite good. Also found the Ducati forum reasonable.Have seen quite a few car forums though which are either like a ghostown or newcomers are about as welcome as a turd in a swimming pool. ::)

Any know problem area's in the middle of the car for oil leaks, noticed some oil on my drive but not feeling like crawling around to see where / what it is..... ::) ::)
Will probably pop it over to my local independent during the week and get it over the pit for a look, well for him to have a look.. :D :D
I did get a response, asking for further details..... :y
-
I'd guess at a breather blockage ;) ;)
Actually I have no idea... But someone might ;D ;D
-
cam cover leaking at the back, had just that same prob on mine, oil runs down onto the bottom of the torque converter...i wrongly assumed it was a leaking auto box seal, luckily its not.. :)

Forums
There is a well run AV forum but it is well overloaded with posts so casual posting is not worth it.
I know of a TV forum which is extremely bossy and loves merging threads into super multi thousand post threads.

I'm on the Rover/MG forum which is ok and MX5Nutz which is not far off as good as OOF :)

I did try and post my experiences of the MGRover forum here yesterday, but the server screwed up, and I couldn't be bothered to retype.
It was along the lines of the only posts to get replies are those about bodykits, 10,000W stereos, undercar lighting, and which baked bean tin is best to weld on as an exhaust tailpiece ::). This is obviously the 200/25 section.
That said, I have had some decent advise there as well, but the chavs ruin it :(

, I have had some decent advise there as well,
you mean they told you to put a .355 magnum round through the block and give it a decent burial????
;D
