Title: Pls help me with my mig's annoying intermittent fault.
Post by: GrahamK on 03 October 2011, 14:47:58
Around every month or so, my car glides to a halt or more often refuses to hot start. The engine flies over but does not fire. I initially suspected a sensor problem, but the engine light does not come on. Usually, after around 45 mins or so the car starts and I'm on my way.

This recently happened again and I waited for the AA to come and look at it. To my surprise he prayed easy start into the plenum and the car fired (didn;t start) so I am kinda thinking it must be a fuel problem??

The problem often happens on warm days. Could it be fuel vaporization? What can I do to stop it? Any other ideas?

Thanks for looking,

Graham.

Lets start with the basics then.....what engine and year?

Also, please ensure that you put a written complaint in to the AA for using Easi Start on your vehicle.

Sorry guys,

Didn't realise that this new forum style does not include your vehicle details that were shown in the old format!
Answer is 2.6 petrol.

Graham.

Sounds like the crank sensor is high on the list of possibilities. Would be worth giving it a pedal check to see if you have a 0335 stored to confirm this.
