I don't speak German :-/
But I liked the look of these as my facelift key is a bit of a big old thing.

Click here for German eBay shop folding keys (http://cgi.ebay.de/Funkfernbedienung-Klappschluessel-Opel-Omega-Vectra-A-B_W0QQitemZ370030180998QQihZ024QQcategoryZ53914QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262)
Anyone any idea of German, or even better how they would ensure you get a key suitable for your car? What is the black box with the loom hanging out of it?
Would the key be a direct replacement and work in the ignition too?

Apart from the German spoken in 'The Great Escape' (vor you tommy, the var iz over), I can't speak a word of it.
The folding Astra-H keys are not compatible with Omega. Its possible someone makes compatible folding keys (not seen any though).

The page behind the link in my initial post refers to these keys for the "Omega and Vectra A + B".
I wonder ::)
I'd like these if I could understand the compatibility with existing keys/ignition and door barrels etc. issues.

Remember the Opel Omega is our Carlton, and the Opel Vectra-A is the last of our Cavaliers. Vectra-B is our first Vectra.
None of the above would work with your Omega-B facelift.

I compared my key blade with my brother in laws folding Vectra C key and the blade in his was narrower.
The folding keyfob doesn't look particularly well made either. It's also physically identical to the one for most Audi's as well.

Audi and VW keys are what I've long coveted TBH. My concern would be getting the blade cut to work in the door lock and ingnition and also making sure that all 3 of the buttons on the fob (lock/unlock/boot open) would all be programmable to my car.

The blade is the easy bit. The transponder isn't too hard. The remote is the sod...

If the blade is the easy bit then I suppose it would be possible to take the guts out of an existing standard key and put them into the inside of a VW key fob then?
It may need a bot of jiggery-pokery, but if it physically fits in and there are 3 buttons then I think it may be possible.
What do you reckon?

My Citroen key looks similar. :)

New Fiat Punto keys are similar too... I do like the idea of the folding key.... trouble is, can't keep my hand out of my pocket fiddling with it.... looks like I'm playing pocket billiards ::)

Just to enlighten you on the E-Bay post!
You have to fit the new remote unit, if you wish to use this system.
The system used is not compatible with any of the original Vx systems.
It does mention that it is compatible with many different cars, but that is only because the new system has to be fitted, which means it doesnt matter what you put it in, if you want you could fit it to a Tank ;D
The blade for the key is a blank one, that needs then to be cut
I hope i have been able to help :y :y
