Hi Guys,
Can anyone help, the warning light on dash showing car with spanner is on permanent.
When D is selected car moves of in 3rd or 4th gear, can't select sports mode or winter driving mode, using petrol as thought its going out of fashion, seems to be running hotter than normal and at speed is not changing into top gear.
Also how do you check Auto Box Oil Level.

Need a decent code reader to find the fault. Cam sensor has been known to cause havoc with the autobox (code 0340). Auto fluid level check http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90508.0

Selector switch is another possibility for box going into "limp mode". But as said, get codes read first.

You need to get the codes read first, but it does sound like the classic cam sensor fault common on 2.2's.

Had the same problem earlier this year. Don't run the car too long with the auto box in limp mode as it will knacker it. Probabley the selector switch but do as advised and have it checked out by having the fault codes read, I left it and ended up having to replace the box at a cost of £650. :'(

You can shift gear manually but it won't go into top. Selector switches usually fail steadily rather than all at once.
My Astra has similar fault. I've used it for two years like that. You get fed up of shifting it and the fuel consumption is worse than running the 2.5 miggy. :'(

selector switch is the most common fault with the 2.2 auto. Get along to a decent auto specialist and get the codes checked
