Title: Cold start problem 2.5 v6
Post by: mikkmuzik on 04 October 2011, 18:20:02
Hello all
My 2.5 v6 has decided to play up,it has a hard time from starting from stone cold.

I did have a missfire but that was cured by new leads and plugs, but ever since its a right pain to start.
I have checked all the leads, pipes, conectors.

Anyone? :'(

paperclip test the car and post your results ,  i wouldnt be at all suprised to see 19 , although sometimes it doesnt show, but my educated guess would be your crank sensor on its way out, easy to get and change but follow the routing guide on here to keep away from heat sources and only buy genuine gm, also you will have to check to see what plug (connector) you have as a couple of different shapes was fitted to the 2.5, plug lives rear of engine, behind plenium, passenger side, near to a big black connector, it is a smaller 3 pin plug  :y

Thanks for all the info.
I do have a "My Naff Code Reader" clone jobbie and it did say '19' rpm ...something ...Didnt take much notice of it thou....Thinking RPM what that got to do with it not starting.....I just cleared it.. :-\

So will check and double check all connections and temp sensor again and look into getting a crank sensor

Thanks again.... :D :y
