Aftenoon all .
After a few niggles with my omega with the help from this forum my car again is back on the road .
Ihave noticed that my spanner light comes on when started up from cold for about 3 to 5 mins then goes out did not used to come on at all ?
Also when i have been driving it some time when driving along using the accelerater i have noticed that the rev counter goes right up as though the car is in neutral then the spanner light comes on and stays on and the sports button on gearbox dont work as though it gone to limp mode .
If when it revs up i drop it in to 3rd then back in to drive its ok again .
Was wonderering if someone could read the codes for me or update the ecu,s for me.
Any advice would be great . :y

What engine? What year?
-
sorry . its 2.2 auto sport estate
-
Sounds like its limp mode, most likey due to the cam sensor :y
Its worth getting codes read first though, before changing bits. MarksDTM does have a tech2, he is also in Nottingham. :y

Hope its nothing major again .
i changed the box about 2 years ago and it started then but not often if i remember .
Thought it was the box ecu needs updateing and to link up with the engine . I shall have to get hold of mark see if he could have a look. Many thanks

Gearbox change does not require any changes/updates to engine ECU. Was it same gearbox replaced like for like? Should be an AR25.
Who changed the gearbox, what was the original fault?
-
gearbox was the ar25 and i changed it myself with help from me dad .
The original fault was everytime i pulled off quick at light it made a clucking noise from it .if i pulled off slowly it was ok
quite a big noise when it did it but since i replaced it been no noise at all .

Pay Mark DTM a visit for a tech2 session.Tbh, your fortunate enough to live near someone who probably knows more about these cars than just about anyone anywhere. Dont know him myself, but have heard many reports that he is a very helpful fella.
You could mess around with all sorts of things and chase your own tail forever and a day with faults like this, or have it properly diagnosed and it get it sorted. :y

i had the same problem with my 2.6 v6 which also has an ar25 box,and it turned out to be the torque converter had failed :(.
may be worth checking fluid level in gearbox though :y
