Monroe self levelers are a good choice for non self leveling cars. No wiring needed, jus a shrader valve in the boot for adjustment.

Fitting the automatic self leveling system should be doable, but quite involved, and may depend if the loom plugs are present. One for the electrical experts on here.

The loom requirement is in 2 parts:

1) the rear part - every Omega Ive seen has it
2) the front part - only fitted to Elites and cars with the option specified.

the joint is the big one in the pas side foot well.

Best go down the Munro route IMO

Or invest in a set of tow hitch weighing scales. Max for an Omega saloon is 75 Kilograms. Adjust the weight on your trailer accordingly.

You could also consider fitting spring assisters. I think self levelling suspension is very overated and complicated to boot..

Self levelling suspension is the dogs nuts.  :y Spring assisters are OK when loaded with your trailer, but tends to leave the car arse up when not.

IMO auto sl is very good for ride hight control, as you might expect.

It's far from ideal as a suspension package only though. Depends on your needs, but all thing considered it's not a bad compromise I guess. Carrying loads, it's worth pursuing, if plug and play.

Never be an easy retrofit due to looms missing.

But, to do it, springs shocks, airline, pump, ecu/sensor, relay and wiring.

Also, it makes the suspension naturally soft at the back - great for motorway cruises, but a little less inspiring around the lanes...

It doesn't have high intensity discharge (hid) headlights from the factory then!

My bad ::) Recalled reading something in parkers about equipment levels. I've never owned/driven a pre f/l so am kind of aware they exist, but never really consider them... ::) :-[ :-X

I've retrofitted maybe four self-levelling sets to cars now, it's a very easy mod.

you need :-

2 x rear damper
2 x rear spring
air compressor
loom from under rear seat to sensor on rear axle
sensor on rear axle

and the air pipes :-

the long air pipe front-to-rear
the tee-piece
the clips to hold the air pipe on
the individual air pipes to left and right

it all bolts straight on.

the compressor goes under the front wing.
the compressor wiring will already be there ( I've never seen a car without it ). It will be hovering around the hole in the inner wing at the base of the air filter.
the air pipe largely clips into the fuel/brake hose supports
the rear loom plugs in to the main harness under the rear seat and then goes to the sensor.

with all the bits to hand, fitting is a four-hour job.

Might need to fit the compressor relay in the dash, in addition? I don't believe my MV6 has this relay fitted. :-\

Any info on which relay it is exactly ? I may be assembling a kit here.Should have everything except the shocks. :)

It's one of the smaller relays in the panel next to the cabin fuse box. On an Elite there'll be two of the small relays, one operates the main bean lights, the other the self levellling pump. Can't remember which is which though. I will double check later.

Main bean, as opposed to borlotti bean, kidney bean or haricot bean. ;D

Oh, hang on, I've got an edit button.  :P

As Kev says, relay box next to cabin fusebox Left hand one, main beam, S/L other one. Both the same  :y

My Pfl cdx ... In fact all omega non hid headlights, where/are hopeless, with the possible exception oh nighbraker bulbs fitted.

Hids just make omega headlights useable.... by modern standards

All Omega headlights are rubbish. In fact, I've not driven any Vauxhall that I though had good lights.  As chrisgixer says, HIDs make it acceptable.

Not that you'd want to ::), but try driving a Vectra C without HID's. The beam is so crap you can't see more than 10 ft in front without main beam. >:(
