Why? ??? There's enough different sizes on an Omega to warrant buying a set. You can get a set from Halfords for reasonable money.

Male Torx sockets you will use on a V6 Omega are E8, E10, E12, E14.
Like Andy says though the rack from Halfords is really cheap and of good quality less than £20 if my mind serves me correctly :y

To get the Plenum off you will also need, 17, 19mm spanners and smallish flat screwdriver.

I just paid £5.59 (including postage) for an inexpensive 15 piece torx bit set fro Ebay.
T20..T25....T30....T40....T45....T50.....T55.......both long and short, plus a half inch chrome adaptor. All presented in a durable blue plastic case.
Not the ultimate in quality, but I really only wanted the bit to undo the sump plug. T40 I think?... :y :y :y

OP was on about Torx sockets (Exx), not torx bits (Txx) ;)

Do what many do and get a decent set of Ebay. They are ok if they are for diy use and even some pro's I know have them!
:D DLK is the exception to that one cos his gear is amongst the best available...... :y (including his toolbox) ;D ;D

The problem with cheap tools is they tend to wear/damage the bolt/nut.
The Halfords Pro/Advanced represent very good quality at reasonable prices (esp if you can blag a trade card), and is generally what I buy. Their screwdrivers are shite though ;D

I've been, very happy with the halfords 150 piece set I bought years ago, does nearly everything you need. Worth getting some adaptors to set up to the big drives when you need extra go...
for money can't knock them, often are on offer for £95/99 :y

Handy for bashing over knackered bolts/nuts to undo - sometime they work out the perfect size. Not that I would do such a thing ::)
-
Just seen them on offer for £99.99 plus if you enter AFFCM14 at checkout you get an extra 10% off - I am seriously tempted. :-\

Still useful and popular with those who restore classics etc.though. ;)

Its worth buying a couple of adaptors:

http://reviews.halfords.com/4028/168146/reviews.htm (http://reviews.halfords.com/4028/168146/reviews.htm)

Bit of a thick moment coming up now - i can see the first one but the 2 part kit is not available - Isn't the first ok by itself?
-
yeah, they are just adaptors, not sure why other is not working. It allows you to use different combinations of drives like smaller sockets on the 1/2 inch.
Torque Wrenches are an ideal investment too:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_178843_langId_-1_categoryId_165469 (http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_178843_langId_-1_categoryId_165469)
I've got a trade card which should get that for around £40 :y
Bigger one for wheel nuts, track rods ect.....

Thankyou - i realised after i typed the post - I think i will leave it for now as i can always pop down to the local store and pick up anytime if i need it.
The torque wrenches do look tempting but i will have to hold out for that right now.
