Title: black 3.2 does it exist!!!
Post by: SWISSTONY on 12 October 2011, 10:13:37
As a few of you know im in the market for a black 3.2 saloon what I didn't realise is they are quite a rare beast there is one on autotrader but its a bit rich and a bit to far for me.http://images.omegaowners.com/forum/smf2000/Smileys/oofstd/cry.gif/bmi_orig_img/cry.gif

With that in mind im starting to look at the 3.0 my question is this what are the differences in power feel etc should I wait for a 3.2 or would I be happy with the 3.0 with a few mods to boost performance?

I suppose the best way would be to drive both myself there is a 3.0 local to me so im looking at that today but still looking for a 3.2 really

Yup, they are around, but not many!

Some members have a 3.0 & 3.2, there is not much in it. Some reckon the 3.0 is a tad faster!

Performance wise the difference is negligable, the 3.2 was just the replacement of the 3.0 so they could put extra cats etc on. The 3.2 is a lot easier to work on under the bonnet - there's less clutter, and above all, the 3.2 is newer.  ;)

I waited over two years for a black one. If your serious, ask Joshwyat on here to source one for you, as I did. If there's one out there he'll find it.

But you'll have to be prepared to travel, and pay top money I would think, possibly at an auction.

There is no difference in performance with 3.0ltr. But drive By wire does feel differant. Not as ..... Accurate(?) as with a cable... If you see what I mean. But then cable feels flat low down by comparison. Boot them both there's nout in it.

As chrisgixer pointed out, absolutely no difference in performance, if both are in mechanically sound condition, and running well.  The 3.2 feels more lively on light throttle response from a standing start, but 3.0l owners will say their's give better control.

Without doubt, easier to work on 3.2, and far easier to LPG ;D

3.2 will be newer, which may be an advantage, but also will definately attract the newer (post 2001) tax bands. 3.0l may be on the older tax bands, depending on exact registration date.

£250 last year.

Of course, had you have sent the paperwork off for the Welsh Swansea thickos to lose, it would be £250 this year ::)

I'd happily pay a tenner not to have to bugger about with it twice. Too late now anyway.

Like the entire civil service, they are entirely incompitent, and utterly rather useless.

Did I mention how easy it is to ban people here (except on my Touchpad - the page crashes the entire OS ;D)
