I've used Avast for a few years :y

Found AVG too resource hungry ;)

I find Chrome is fine - makes me wonder what IE does to waste all that extra time it takes.

Definitely bin AVG though - it's like swimming in porridge when that's running.   :(

IE is the fastest, the most stable, and the lowest footprint of the big 3 currently (thiugh the new FF looks good :y). Chrome is the worse in all respects, plus has a dreadful history with (lack of) security.

have you hit your head? IE totaly sucks, and crashes all the time and its slow. chrome has been perfect until the stupid avg 2012 upgrade.

I've just switched to Windows 7, so far really liking it now i've been pushed to use it. Certainly quick, so far no issues .......... apart from IE, crashed on my everytime I used it, total, utter, shite, really slow at rendering sites compared to chome.

Got my bookmarks sync'd straight away, I love its simple uncluttered look which maximises the browsing space.

Afraid virtually every independent benchmark proves that Chrome requires the most memory, is a CPU hog, and is the least stable of the big 3.

IE core is rock stable. Check what naff plugins you have, as thats about all that can bring IE down.

Known common problematic ones are Acrobat and AV ones.

Not seem an IE8 or IE9 crash for ages on any of my home or work systems.
