Title: gift from rain..
Post by: cem_devecioglu on 15 October 2011, 12:21:21

thursday we were on course for SQL server 2008 and related services on a higher region of city..

as I hardly wake up early morning whole week I need to go with car and spend nearly half an hour for finding parking space.. and nearly whole week we had rain.. but thursday was different.. in afternoon we were in the class and all of a sudden hailstones start to drop.. was small at the beginning but suddenly reached the size of a  bird egg (4-4.5 cms) :o :o :'( :'( :'(

I rushed outside but car was a bit far (clit) and take some hits on the  head also.. untill I reach it stopped.. but too late..

clit has now 17 dings on the ceiling (2-3 mm deep), 2 on the hood , 1 on the drivers door..  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( :'(   :'(  if its luck :-\ :-\   windscreen and rear were intact but many cars (especially sedans)  around have boıth broken front and rear windows  ??? ??? ???   a complete disaster..

called the insurance firm and they said we know.. we accept the bill.. how ?  the body shop whom I know does a perfect job but will ask no less then 400 £ where the firm will pay maximum %25 :(

That's frustrating news cem - especially when so much work went into the car recently.

I hope you can get it sorted out quickly without too much trouble (or expense). :y

I went for the expensive route because here the cars when roof is painted or roof paint is thick or bond is used (because they measure) its hardly sold.. and I dont want to go in painting trouble, as I dont have much time for nowadays.. :-\

(although refurbishing some wheels at the same time ;D )

My commiserations to you Cem , especially after all the work you did on the car this year.
Providing the paint is intact I'd have thought your insurance company would employ a paintless dent removal company to tease out the dents .
I've had some done on our cars over the years and their skill always amazes me . The guy I use over here was trained in Canada whilst living there and he told me that the company had/have a core team that are called into Hail struck areas throughout Canada and the States to carry out just such a task when many cars were damaged.
Good luck . :y

Thanks for your interest :y :y

as the insurance companies chooses the cheapest places I cant trust them.. :-\

so I bite the bullet and go for known place for its profession.. only problem is they take more than double money..

but its worth imo..I talk with the insurance company, they will pay at least some of it.. and I will cover the excess..

will see and post the results.. :y

if it happened to miggy I'm sure I would go mad :(  the last 2 years this happened several times in Ankara

and I have seen really worse cases .. my fault was thinking myself to be lucky ;D

this spring I planned to re-paint miggy again as the ceiling-roof paint is half burnt from sun and other parts also have some problems.. I'm not sure to do it..  :-\ :-\
