Hi guys i have a 2.5 with lpg fitted to it. I want to have it taken out and put into my 3.0 mv6. Does anybody know anyone who will do this. Preferabley in the south west as i am in swindon. I have been back to the place that fitted it and they dont want to know they will only fit a new one at a cost of £1800 twice what i paid for the car. :'(
Hopefully someone can help me and put me in contact wth someone who would do this for me. :y

Personally I would not bother, brand new DIY kit for V6 is £600 ish ....

And where would i get one of those from and how hard is it to do?
-
Not too bad to do, the current ones are a bit tricky to calibrate though.
Lazydocker has the contact to get a good price on a DIY kit. Once fitted, you need to get it certified, around £100...
Maintenence Guides are full of guides for fitting the Stag 300 kit :y

Depends how practickly minded the owner is... I suppose a comparison would be, diy your own cam belt kit accurately and correctly, then confidence should be high enough to fit your own lpg kit.... Would that be fair to say? :-\
Key to it is knowing where everything goes first, guides and viewing other members converted cars is key to all that. Your welcome to come have a look at mine of course, or any other members lpg'd car i should imagine. Although having said that, you already have a converted car to copy. ;D
There is no room for a bodging mentality though.

If you want anywork sorting on LPG, JamesV6CDX is your man ;)
Send him a PM, but be aware he may take a day or two as some prat drove into him the other day, so may be a tadge upset/busy right now :y

Meant to say that it might take a day or two to reply. He also lives fairly close to you, as he's in Gloucester :y
EDIT BUTTON - please???? ;)

FFS... It has been explained many, many times that the Edit function is not available because it doesn't work correctly!
I'm getting bored with all the comments about it now, as I'm sure the admin team must be >:( It will, no doubt, be sorted in due time but they have dedicated a huge amount of time migrating the forum to a more suitable platform and they all have "real" jobs to do, as well as their home life ;)
Just think of all the extra posts on your post count when you need to correct something you have typed incorrectly ;D

To the OP...
As Chris has rightly said, if you are confident and capable of changing the cam belt correctly then you ar likely to be able to fit LPG ;)
As TB says, the Maintenance section has plenty of guides to fitting it (although I must get around to doing a V6 Front End Guide :-[) and the principal is the same for the 4 cyl as it is the V6 ;)
If you aren't capable then, unless someone here is willing to help, I'm afraid you're probably looking at a new installation from a "Professional"... Take your time and do your research ;) I've only seen 1 so far that met my expectations and it wasn't cheap ::) That's on Entwood's car :y :y

Hey man, chill :P
I know the score with the edit button, it was more a point of me not writing my post correctly in the first place, then looking a prat afterwards!
It wasn't a dig at the admin in any shape or form, as we all know they've got more important things to worry about right now! :y

Yep... Wrong side of the bed this morning and you got the brunt of it :-[ :-[ :-[
But I am getting tired with seeing it every other comment at the moment ::) We all make mistakes when typing and I agree, it is frustrating not being able to edit posts, but if it's getting boring for me then I'm sure the Admins are getting royally miffed with it ;) We just need to get on with it and (perhaps) spend a bit more time reading our posts before pressing send (and that certainly includes me!) :y

Whassat? LPG Project? Swindon?
::)
I have fitted LPG to my own car and made a tidy job of it. I would be happy enough to help out :y

Mine was done down near Winchester... and was not cheap ....(£2173.80) and that was 3 years ago. Reason I didn't use the Swindon based LPG company who advertise heavily around town was simple ... I didn't like the answers to some of my questions, and they could not put me in contact with an Omega V6 owner who they had converted. So I looked elsewhere.
Given the information/knowledge that has been gained on the forum in the last 3 years, I would not go "professional" if I had to do it now, but would DIY with the help of "those who know". The advice and assistance for just a few beers and curries would be money well spent IMHO

Hi Lazydocker, no offence taken mate. I re-read your post a while later and saw it in a different light and your right :-[ It is mentioned quite a lot and I should have known better ::) As you also rightly pointed out, maybe if I checked my post better, I wouldn't need the edit button :y

Hi that would be great, I have yet to purchase the kit but when i do i will bear you in mind if i need any help.
Thanks :y :y :y :y

I'd be happy enough to transfer your old kit. I would use new pipes but the kit itself would be ok if its sequential?
-
MV6Danny,
You can't go wrong with JamesV6CDX, as he said, he installed his own and it drives like dream!
When I got my car the LPG was rough as old boots. James has twice worked on mine, finding numerous faults from the initial installation, sourcing parts for a system that is 10 years old and then rebuilding it and reprogramming it. I can't fault his work.
The only word of warning I'll give you though, is you'll not get your car back unless it's running right!! He's a stickler and like a dog with a stick, won't let it go til he's happy :y

sounds good, how much would you charge me to do that, might be a problem getting old car to you though as it is off the road. :y :y
