Title: dual mass flywheel info needed

Hello could some tell me if petrol cars have dual mass flywheels or only diesels ?

Yep, they do fit d.m.f.'s to petrol engines too..

and they are bloody expensive.. I converted to single mass .. and using it without problem..

so would a vectra 2007 sri petrol have a dmf and is it true that the vibration of a diesel engine cause more problems to dmf's that petrol engines thanks ajn

for Vectra and Signum the diesels had problems particularly the 150 bhp engine. I have had 2 DMFs in 4 years on my Signum 150 - one at 16000 and another at 35000 - car now at 60000 - touching wood. They say the torque of the diesel is the problem for this type of DMF.  they have modified them so expecting less trouble

definitely - have put Signum onto Warranty Direct now as well.

From my experiences of them I hope you've got written confirmation that a DMF failure is covered :-X :-X

  thanks for the reply are these dmfs  on petrol engines just as bad reason being some told me the vibration of a diesel engine makes matters worse cheers ajn
