Title: Reverse lamp switch, where shall I attack from?

Hi all,
reverse lamps don't work, cabling, bulbs, fuse ok maybe the switch went wrong.Where is it exactly?  Where shall I attack from? From above or from below?  Any advice please     Laszlo

its on the passenger side of the gearbox, and awkward without the right tool, which I THINK was a 27mm offset ring spanner.  Do a search on here, it has been detailed exactly.

manual gearbox or auto? If auto, it's part of the gear selector switch if manual it's a separate switch.
