Hi i asked this the other week i have a 2013 bose stereo i want to remove it all and put in my Sony head unit. Now i know i have to remove all the the speakers and stereo. Just need to know the loom i need and with the gid i need to get a wiper stalk to operate the mid. Will this need to be tech 2'd. I will be selling the relevant parts 2013 hu and gid together. Only reason i want to do this is i have a £400 sony headunit that my wife bought for me and she has the arse with me "oh that was a waste of money" . Plus i use my ipod alot which plugs into the hu. Any help and if anyone interested in the 2013 stuff you will get very cheap.

Personally, I think the Sony HU will be a downgrade, unless its quite old. Sony haven't made anything good in car audio for years. If it does the annoying 12 beeps when the ign goes off with the panel in, its likely to be one of the poor ones.
However, your shopping list:
MID (with correct config, or will need Tech2)
Wiper Stalk with S and R
Wiring between stalk and MID (make yourself - 2 wires :y)
Prefacelift CD Changer loom (as it has the loopbacks on)
Door Speakers (tweeters can stay, rear subs will be left disconnected)
Potentially an adpater from GM loom to Sony loom
Quite straightforward, although removing doorcards is always fiddly :y

If you want the steering wheel controls and MID to work with the radio, you will need the associated 'adpaters' from Sony, assuming your model has that function, and the adpaters are still available.

Hi thanks for replys, the hu is only 4mths old and sounded very good in my vectra. With the loom does it need to be out of a facelift or can it come from a mini-FL.

Still, if it works for you, nought else matters :y

If it were me I'd just leave the Bose set up in place and turn it up to drown out the Misses...
Have to agree on Sony stereos being rubbish, I've always found Pioneers to be much better in terms of sound quality, build quality, aesthetics, etc...

Despite all of the negative comments about how poor quality the Sony stuff is nowadays, it has to be said that even a poor quality Sony is a significant improvement over the 20 year old piece of crap that Vx put in there with a Bose badge on
:-X

You must be getting tone deaf in your old age, Mr DND :P ;D
My Binatone 40yr old solid state wireless sounds better than any Sony car stereo made this side of the 90s...

TB, Not disagreeing about Binatone Vs Sony, you know my feelings there, however, my comments were Sony Vs BOSE, and yes, my comments still stand
Bloody Orrible Sound Everytime

We shall agree to disagree on that one then ;D (modern Sony v GM Bose (can't speak for Bose in other marques)).
