Title: 2 subjects seized caliper update. & oilleak
Post by: raywilb on 21 October 2011, 18:44:23
posted a few days ago re a siezed caliper. it turns out my brakes are ok & it tuned out that tie rods are shot. ordered both sides & will do the job when they arrive. when up on lift i notced an oil leak. seems it the area where the aux belt tensioner is. does a oilseal live behind that pulley ? & is it easy to change if its the cause.

I'm confused as to how fubar'd tie rod can be mistaken for a seized caliper  ..........  :-\ :-\ :-\

re caliper . pulling to near side problem plus check brake pad warning .turns out  brakes ok  . on oil leak problem cam gasket is ok, so washed off & the front crank shaft oil seal seems to be the spot the  leaks from. has anybody done one of those and if so whats involved getting to it.  thanks in advance :y
