It has been explained numerous times, some nicely, some not so nicely, that for technical reasons, it is not possible at this time.

Other than using capslock to SHOUT IT AT YOU ALL, can the greater masses PLEASE give the admin team a break?

When it can be safely restored, it will be.

And not before, howsoever often it gets requested.

Indeed, in the admin area, its been earnestly suggested that temporary banning is a viable option to get the point across.

Something has to get through to the OOF community. Eventually...... :'(

Most folks here don't read every thread posted, and so the vast majority of the userbase won't have even read a post explaining why the edit button isn't there..

So unfortunately you're stuck with having to explain it to each person who asks (it's not as if it's the same person each time). Perhaps a mass PM to the entire userbase, or a mass email to all registered users, if it's that tiresome ;)
