Title: Getting rid!
Post by: Chopper on 25 October 2011, 17:31:08
I have a right hand drive but French registered omega estate. Have sourced another car in the uk and thought I would try and sell in the uk or take to a breakers - apparently they pay quite well for cars!

Would I have to re-register in uk to take to a breakers?

Am I that transparent?
Seriously, can a breakers accept a French registered car? I was hoping not to go down the auction route as this is expensive.

I think the answer is that it'd probably depend what breakers you took it to. Most would probably want the log book, etc. but I'm sure some would take it for cash no questions asked. ::)

I would be more concerned about the French registration. Would you be able to declare it scrapped to the French authorities or would the car then remain registered to you for ever? Would you regard that as a problem? ;)
