Pleased to see the 787 Dreamliner enter service at long last.

I reckon it's a great plane..and 25% of its components come from the UK (e.g Eaton Aerospace). Well done to the British engineers involved! :y

Yes, it’s a fine looking machine - the wing configuration is particularly elegant. :-* :-*

travelled a lot on Boeing's 777's in my student days, very smooth!

Went on A320's to Japan, they had the edge, but they are a lot newer.

A320 is 1980's... and not sure it has the range to get to Japan. ;)

				Nuts, meant the A340!  :-[

Fun trivia fact - my dad is currently over in Germany overseeing the installation/fit/etc of the autoclaves being used to cure the new Airbus A350 carbon fibre fuselage..

 These things:

They have some nifty machinery for laying up the CF, too (nothing to do with my dad, but I find them fascinating):

Wonder if Airbus's carbon fibre efforts will be as delayed as Boeing

Blimey! You could cook a few Turkeys in that. ;D

You're not wrong ;D Behind that rear cover are four radiators, each one is 2m x 2m - it wasn't until I saw a photo of those with my dad stood in front of them that I realised just how big the whole thing was!

Good job they've only had to take the radiators out twice to have the dodgy (British, sadly) welding fixed..  :-[
