I have recently had a new radiator replaced and the system refilled. After approx 4 weeks I now have a leak that appears adjacent to the oil filter. Having inspected the hoses in that area there are no obvious leaks but water drips off of the flange on the top of the sump but doesn't appear above it. Could this be the pump leaking or should I be looking elsewhere ???

Water leaks are quite difficult to trace especially if it is small,as I know to my costover the last few days. >:( >:( >:(
Best advise I could give you is remove the coolant bottle cap and replace with a pressure tester either home made or from garage :y.Apply gentle pressure to system but no more than around 12-14psi and inspect every pipe join and clip :y :y.What you are in effect doing is replicating the pressure in the system as if you were driving at normal speed and temperature although being cold you are quite safe from potentila scalding. :) :)
If any part is leaking you will be able to see it clearer now. :y

It certainly sounds like a pump seal leak, there isn,t anything else to leak low down on the front of the engine on a 2.2 :-\
I assume you've checked the hose connection to the thermostat & the stat body? Run your flattened hand along the gap in the engine bay between radiator & engine at the approximate height of the leak to make sure their isn't a very fine jet of water coming from the radiator or connections on that side as a fine jet would be difficult to see in some circumstances and more easily felt if it hits your hand :-\
