fitted new track rods etc both sides. i needed to put both adjusting bits back as only the short & long was sent [my fault i ordered wrong] i went to a local wheel alignment centre. the problem i,m having is when i turn left on full lock the nut on the adjusters clamp is rubbing against the wheel. its gouging a thin layer of alloy off. going back tomorrow but i would like to know what other oof members whats gone wrong. apart from the left turn all seems ok :-\ :y

(Assuming its the right part) I fail to see how track rod could contact wheel
-
Wrong part...? ... might be able to turn the clamp round? Undo one, the other should still hold position.
-
The outer track rod end is the wrong way up (they are shaped so as to stop it being caught on the alloy when on lock)
-
Must be the track rode end from the wrong side :-\
The trackrod should bend in towards the front of the car, not the rear...
-
Fit em properly mate and you should be ok ;)
-
i,ll check tomorrow to see if i,ve done something wrong. gonna try extending the outer rod out about 40mm thread showing & the inner rod in by the same adjustment. then a recheck. sorted hopefully. cheers all for your input :y :y

Threads need to be the same amount. Could be dangerously small amount of thread left otherwise. Not sure you'll get 40mill, it's a left and right thread in order to adjust...?

dare not tell you what i,d done wrong :-[ :-[ :-[ . thought it was all fixed now so went to get it retracked but was told a ball joint on the centre bar is kaput. good news was given a new one 2yrs ago, been in the shed since. & hopefully it can be removed without removing the wheels. :y
